Veterans and First Responders
Creative Art Outreach Opportunities
Edwardsville Arts Center is pleased to offer a special series of creative arts workshops for veterans, first responders, and their immediate family members. These relaxed, hands-on experiences are an opportunity to try something new, spend time together, and explore creativity in a welcoming studio environment.
No previous art experience is required, and all materials are provided.
FOR VETERANS:
Veterans may bring up to two guests - a partner, child(ren), or parent(s).
All art events are completely free. Registration is required.
Nature Painting
Date: Saturday, October 3rd, 12-3pm
Location: Watershed Nature Center
Description: Enjoy an afternoon of art and nature in a relaxed outdoor setting. Learn from professional painter John DenHouter as you explore plein air painting and create your own artwork inspired by the surrounding landscape.
Ceramics Cups
Date: Sunday, October 11th, 1:00-2:30pm
Location: Edwardsville Arts Center
Description: Get creative with clay and learn simple handbuilding techniques as you make your own ceramic cup. Enjoy a relaxed, hands-on experience with guidance from an experienced ceramics instructor.
Creative Writing
Date: Saturday, October 17th, 1:00-2:30pm
Location: Edwardsville Public Library
Description: Explore your creativity through fun writing prompts, exercises, and open-ended activities. Spend time putting your ideas on the page in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
