NOW HIRING - CERAMICS PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Position Title: Program Assistant: Ceramics

Position Type: Experienced (non-manager), reports to the Director of Programs

Schedule: Part-time, 9 hours a week

Pay: Hourly $15

Job Description: The Program Assistant will be responsible for maintaining art education spaces which includes the maintenance of ceramics studio and equipment, supply inventory, cleaning, scheduling firings, loading and unloading kilns, and communicating with students on retrieval of work. Additional duties as required.

The EAC is a community visual arts center dedicated to offering the St. Louis Metro East with cultural experiences through enriching art education, programming, and exhibitions. The EAC produces several professional and student exhibitions in a growing number of satellite spaces within Madison County. The center participates in community outreach events, educational development programs for children and adults, and multiple fundraising events including a 3-day art fair.

Evening and weekend hours may be required. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Interest in teaching either adult or kids classes is preferred.

  • Familiarity with typical ceramics studio needs, tools, and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Oversees maintenance of ceramics studio, inventory, firings, and communicating with students on retrieval of work. 

    • Assist with training incoming teachers on student management and cleaning procedures.

    • Ceramic supply management, including reclaiming clay scraps, organizing repair of equipment, and assessing tool and material safety.

    • Art supply inventory management.

    • Cleaning of educational spaces.

    • Other duties as assigned.
