ABOUT THE ARTIST

Scott Fleming is a Glen Carbon based designer, illustrator, and artist, who has been working professionally for over 20 years in the creative industry. Honing his skills in higher education, he provided the creative vision, human-centered design and thought leadership for a nationally recognized university online course program. He currently is the visual design lead for a digital education solutions provider in NYC, working with such brands as HBO, BBC and PBS. Community service is also a high priority as he actively volunteers with multiple local non-profits, including the Edwardsville Arts Center which he has served on the board of directors for the past five years. Scott also runs a design and illustration business, Scott Fleming Creative. He enjoys helping small to mid-sized businesses develop or expand their brand identity and being commissioned for his one-of-a-kind art pieces.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Scott attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago and Northern Illinois University where his focus was on design and illustration. His art often touches on themes of nature, history and pop culture. This year’s fair art is inspired by the characteristics of American traditional tattoos and reflects the colorful, handcrafted creative inspiration behind the Edwardsville Art Fair and the artists which make it a special event.
